Properly valuing and pricing the property and determining the best way to optimize its value goes to one of our core strengths -- providing a strategic plan that may include redevelopment, retenanting, and rebranding the asset.  Ironwood can provide a detailed leasing and management plan to achieve the desired results.  As market conditions change, we will modify the leasing and management strategy to stay ahead of the curve.  We will handle the disposition of the property to maximize returns to investors and financial institutions.

  • Ironwood is currently working with a number of Chicago-area community banks as broker to handle the sale of assets.  We have teamed up with national and local investment brokerage firms to maximize value.
  • Through several executive and senior management positions, Mr. Kahen led the acquisition and disposition of over $600 million of real estate in all property types throughout the U.S. 
  • As President and Chief Operating Officer of TLC Management Company in Chicago, a mid-sized investment and management firm that owns and manages more than $300 million in assets,  Gary Kahen was directly involved in the acquisition of six additional market rate and HUD affordable apartment buildings in Chicago, ranging from 60 to 191 apartment units.  These buildings ranged in price from $4 to $16 million.
  • As Vice President Acquisitions and Asset Management at Draper & Kramer Realty Advisors, Mr. Kahen  leveraged his extensive network to annually source and originate over $1.4 billion in office, industrial, apartment and retail deals throughout the U.S. on behalf of a $2.5 billion pension fund.
